Every two months, Hillcroft focus on a hot topic for staff to discuss in meetings.
It was suggested that workshops are held to run alongside these to give staff the opportunity to develop new skills.
The hot topic for March and April was First Aid and workshops were held at our Slyne Academy on 27th, 28th and 29th March.
Subjects covered in the one and a half hour session, included; CPR, strokes, epilepsy, defibrillation devices, bleeds and blood pressure. Not only would this be helpful at work, but at home as well.
David Thompson, Trainer at Slyne, said: “The first aid awareness training was fun and enjoyable to deliver with a lot of participation from all.
“The groups’ feedback showed that staff found it useful and their free CPR mouth guard gift was a just reward for attendance.”
All six homes joined in and decorated their reception areas to help promote the workshops and we think they look lovely.
